Overview
UCP Checker & Validator ("this site," "we," "us") is a free tool for checking whether a website publishes a valid Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) manifest. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit or use the site, and how it is handled.
The short version: there are no user accounts, no sign-up forms, and the domains you check or manifests you paste in are not stored anywhere. The only data collected is aggregate, anonymous traffic analytics, described below.
Information we do not collect
We do not require or request an account to use this site. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information anywhere on the site today. When you enter a domain to check, or paste a manifest into the validator, that input is used only to perform the check in that moment. It is not logged, stored in a database, or retained by us after the result is returned to your browser.
Information collected automatically
This site uses Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages are visited and how often. Per Ahrefs' own documentation, this specific product does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information by default. It records page URLs, referrers, and a hashed combination of IP address and browser user agent (using a secure hash with a randomly regenerated salt) so that traffic can be counted without identifying individual visitors or tracking them across other sites.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, may also generate standard server request logs (such as timestamps and response codes) as a normal part of operating the infrastructure this site runs on. These are operational logs used for reliability and abuse prevention, not analytics we actively review or use to identify visitors.
Cookies
This site does not set its own cookies. The analytics tool described above does not use cookies. If that changes, for example if account features are added in the future, this policy will be updated first and a cookie notice will be added if required.
How information is used
The limited, aggregate analytics data described above is used only to understand how the site is used overall (for example, which guides are popular) so we can improve it. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build profiles of individual visitors.
Third-party services
This site links out to third-party resources, including the official UCP specification, Google's developer documentation, and various platform and payment-processor guides. Visiting those external sites is subject to their own privacy policies, not this one. The checker and validator tools also make outbound requests to whatever domain you ask them to check, in order to fetch that domain's manifest; that request is made from our server, not your browser, and is not logged beyond what is needed to return your result.
Data retention
Because we do not store the domains you check, the manifests you paste in, or any personal information, there is nothing tied to you to retain or delete. Aggregate analytics data is retained by Ahrefs according to their own retention practices.
Your rights
Because this site does not collect personal data through forms, accounts, or identifiable tracking, there is generally nothing on file to access, correct, or delete. If you believe that has changed, or you have a specific privacy question, you can reach out using the contact information below.
Children's privacy
This site is a technical tool intended for website operators, developers, and businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If how this site collects or handles information changes, for example if accounts or email collection are added, this policy will be updated and the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly.

Questions about this policy can be directed to the site operator through the contact channels listed on this website.
