Salesforce (Agentforce Commerce) and UCP: What Is Actually Live

Unlike most platforms in this series, Salesforce isn't a case of one confirmed commitment and a gap for the rest. Agentforce Commerce, formerly Salesforce Commerce Cloud, has native support for both ACP and UCP, plus a separate partnership on Google's AP2, making it one of the few platforms touching all three major standards. Here is what's actually shipped, sourced directly from Salesforce's own press releases and blog.

Quick answer

Per Salesforce's own press releases, Agentforce Commerce has native ACP support, announced October 14, 2025 in collaboration with Stripe and OpenAI, and native UCP support, added in mid-January 2026, both without requiring third-party plugins. Salesforce also announced a separate partnership around Google's Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) in November 2025. Product catalog connections are configured through a field-mapping interface in Business Manager, Salesforce's admin console, rather than a single toggle.

ACP: announced October 14, 2025

Per Salesforce's own press release, Salesforce announced a collaboration with Stripe and OpenAI on October 14, 2025 to build an Instant Checkout integration guided by the Agentic Commerce Protocol. The release cited Salesforce's own research finding that 48% of shoppers already using AI for shopping were open to letting an agent complete a purchase for them, framing the move as a direct response to that shift. See our Agentic Commerce Protocol guide for the full breakdown of what ACP itself actually requires.

A follow-up Salesforce announcement on November 19, 2025 confirmed the integration was live: product catalogs and pricing sync from Business Manager into ChatGPT, and checkout runs through Stripe's token-based payment flow, the same Shared Payment Token mechanism covered in our Stripe and Agentic Commerce guide. That same announcement also confirmed a partnership around Google's Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), the payment-authorization layer covered in our AP2 guide, making Salesforce one of the few platforms with a confirmed connection to all three major standards at once.

UCP: added natively in early 2026

Per Salesforce's own blog post announcing the integration, Agentforce Commerce added native support for Google's Universal Commerce Protocol, framing UCP as a "common language" that lets a merchant's product data and transaction capabilities be understood by any UCP-compatible agent without a custom integration per platform. Salesforce's own commerce product page confirms this is a native integration, not a third-party add-on, enabling product discovery and checkout inside Google AI Mode.

Salesforce's own blog cites a striking internal data point to justify the investment: during the 2025 holiday season, traffic arriving from AI-driven search converted at 9 times the rate of traffic from social media. Whether or not that specific multiple generalizes beyond Salesforce's own merchant base, it is the reasoning Salesforce itself gives for prioritizing UCP.

What a merchant on Agentforce Commerce actually needs to do

Per Salesforce's own commerce product page, connecting a catalog to ChatGPT runs through a "native feed integration and field mapping UI built directly into Business Manager," Salesforce's admin console. That is a genuine native integration, but it is a configuration step in an admin panel, not an instant, zero-touch toggle the way Shopify's Agentic storefronts channel is; see our Shopify and UCP guide for the closest direct comparison among platforms covered so far.

Where Salesforce's own philosophy differs

Nitin Mangtani, EVP and GM of Agentforce Commerce, laid out Salesforce's actual strategy directly in an interview with Digital Commerce 360: he expects referral traffic to be shaped heavily by AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini, but argues commerce itself should still happen on a merchant's own properties, its website, app, or messaging channels, rather than being completed inside the AI platform. In his framing, a retailer benefits by capturing the transaction data and the customer relationship directly, rather than handing that off to whichever AI surface referred the shopper. This is a genuinely different emphasis from a platform that leans into in-chat checkout as the end goal; Salesforce frames the protocols as feeding discovery into the merchant's own storefront rather than replacing it.
